Anthropic's IPO Filing Hides a Power Bill Bigger Than Most Countries
$542 billion. That's the floor.
Anthropic dropped its S-1 on Monday. The AI lab behind Claude plans to list on Nasdaq as "ANT." The headlines focused on revenue — $16.3 billion in the first half of 2026, up from $1.16 billion in the same period last year. Roughly a 14x jump in twelve months.
But I went straight to the compute section. Page after page of it.
Anthropic has locked in between $542 billion and $567 billion in future compute and data center obligations. Some counts push that past $750 billion. These are not plans. They are signed deals — mostly non-cancelable — with Amazon, Google, and Microsoft.
| H1 2026 Revenue $16.3B | H1 2025 Revenue $1.16B | |
| Compute Obligations $542–567B | H1 2026 Gross Margin 85% | |
Forget SpaceX, this is Elon’s Next Breakthrough
While everyone was distracted with the recent SpaceX IPO…
Elon Musk quietly filed a patent with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to protect what I believe will be his next breakthrough…
Something he called “the greatest tech invention in history.”
Elon is predicting this new AI breakthrough will unleash…
A $1 quadrillion new wealth wave.
That’s more than 30 times bigger than the entire U.S. economy.
And just to give you an idea of how much wealth we're talking about...
That would be enough to send a check for $2.8 million to every single American.
Click here to see the details because I believe this invention will make a lot of people rich.
The S-1 breaks it down. Anthropic signed a $417 billion compute deal by the end of 2025. Then added $125 billion to $150 billion more for capacity starting in 2028. One deal alone is a 20-year lease for a data center that hasn't been built yet.
And the power? Anthropic has secured five gigawatts of total capacity from Amazon to train and run its models. That's roughly half the peak load of New York City.
"We believe this abundance of AI will rapidly transform every sector of the global economy in ways greater than the impact of industrialization, electricity, semiconductors and the internet."
They rank AI above electricity. And they need more electricity than almost anyone to prove it.
Gartner says global data center power will hit 565 TWh this year — up 26% from 2025. Anthropic alone spent $9 billion on compute in the first half of 2026. That money lands as power bills at data centers in Virginia, Oregon, and Indiana.
One company. One S-1. Half a trillion in locked-in power demand.
The biggest IPO filing of the year isn't really a tech story. It's an energy story dressed in software.
I'm Giving This Away (Seriously)
Quick question...
Would you spend 60 seconds to save yourself $29.97?
That's what my "Safe Trade Options Formula" book costs on our website right now. But today, I'm giving it away — no charge, no strings.
Inside, you'll discover a 5-part trade that makes every trade... a SAFE TRADE.
It's the same book that sells for $29.97 on our website right now, but is yours on the house today.
All you have to do is click here and tell me where to send it.
p.s. This won't stay free forever — $29.97 is a fair price and I'll be going back to it soon.

Signals From the Wire
EQT is buying Range Resources in a $13 billion all-stock deal — creating the biggest natural gas producer in the U.S. The combined company will pump over 9 Bcfe per day from nearly 3 million acres in Appalachia. EQT called itself "America's natural gas champion" in the filing. The customer is easy to guess. Data centers are driving record gas demand, and EQT will control more than 3,700 miles of pipeline to feed them.
Speaking of who feeds whom — Anthropic's S-1 shows at least $114.5 billion owed to Google Cloud and $110 billion to Amazon Web Services for compute over the next two decades. Microsoft gets a slice too. Every dollar of that flows into data centers that draw power around the clock. Those three cloud giants are now Anthropic's landlords, chip suppliers, and electricity brokers — all at once.
Copper hit $14,540 per metric tonne on the LME in early September — and the cushion is thin. The 2026 global surplus is projected at just 104,000 tonnes. JPMorgan says AI data centers alone add 110,000 tonnes of new demand this year. One buyer eats the whole surplus. Each megawatt of AI data center capacity needs 30 to 47 tonnes of copper inside the building — and up to 150 tonnes when you count the grid upgrades to reach it.
Meanwhile, Gartner forecasts AI-optimized servers will eat 175 TWh of electricity in 2026, up from 95 TWh in 2025. That's 31% of all data center power — and it's the fastest-growing slice. Total data center demand hits 132 GW this year, up 27%. The grid was not built for this ramp.
Gas, copper, and power — three markets, one customer: AI. The supply chains behind artificial intelligence are becoming the most crowded trades in energy.

The First Shovel: TVA Gets America's First SMR Construction Permit
"Four months ahead of schedule is what the new NRC looks like." That was NRC Chairman Ho K. Nieh on September 29.
He was talking about TVA’s Clinch River site in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The NRC had just given it the first construction permit for a small modular reactor in U.S. history. A month later, it still looks like the most important permit of the year.
The reactor is a 300-megawatt GE Vernova Hitachi BWRX-300. It's the second major new-reactor construction approval in 2026. And TVA wants up to four of them at the site — 1,200 megawatts total.
The NRC started its review in July 2025. It finished in 14 months. That matters. The old knock on nuclear was that permits took a decade. This one didn't.
TVA picked the site for a reason. Oak Ridge already has grid ties. It already has nuclear talent. And the Tennessee Valley is seeing power demand grow as data centers push south.
Bechtel is leading construction. GE Vernova provides the reactor design. The DOE kicked in $400 million in cost-shared grants to anchor the domestic supply chain around the project.
TVA's CEO called this permit "a repeatable licensing pathway" for future SMR builds. If he's right, every utility with a retired coal plant and a data center on hold just got a new playbook.
One permit won't solve the power gap. But it proves the regulators can move — and that changes the math for everyone waiting in line behind TVA.
Rockets, EVs and humanoid robots all need critical metals. One relatively unknown company trading around $5 could be positioned to benefit. Get the free report and the ticker by text.
